Abstract: The main intent of this paper is to analyze the relationships between Italian language and the language used by Italians of 2. and 3. generation emigrated to South America. The key idea of this article is to explain which role covers the Italian language and how these learners use it with a focus on pronouns and subjunctive and on the changes of these categories in the so called “neostandard” perspective.
